If you love something healthy, try out steamed chicken with black fungus and ginger. This is my mom's recipe and all of us love it. Simple dish go along well with a steam rice.
- 1 medium Chicken breast
- 30-50g Black fungus ( depends)
- 15 seedless Red Dates ( take out the seed)
- 25g Ginger (shredded) Amount according to preference
- 1/4 - 1/2 cup Water ( depends)
Soak the fungus and dates till soft. Drain. Cut ginger into slices . Set aside.
Cut up chicken and remove unwanted parts, skin and fats. Marinate for at least an hour.
Lay fungus, some ginger and herbs on steaming dish and top with chicken. I like to put the fungus at the bottom so that the juices from the chicken will flow down to the fungus.
Lastly, put the rest of the ginger and mushroom on the chicken. Add water and give it a gentle stir.
Steam chicken for about 30 mins.To check if chicken is cook, use a fork. Mix well and serve hot! Drizzle more wine if you like!

Take note if you love salted fish: Add some salted fish, fry the diced salted fish in some oil or roast them in the oven, until they become golden brown and crispy and sprinkle on top. Yummy!
