Discover the best of Shanghai xiaolongbao. The original place will be on Huanghe Lu is still the best. Just make sure to get in early -- Jia Jia closes as soon as it runs out of xiaolongbao, sometimes by late afternoon. Avoid lunch crowd, try to be there around 11:30am.
Just look at queue , we were there at 11:30am and we need to wait for 10 minutes to get seats.
There is limited seating and with tables and stools. They have a variety of xiao long bao, but the problem is they often sold out. When we were there, only three types left: pork and egg yolk, pork and crab meat, and just plain crab meat. We ordered 2 steamers of 1 original only pork and the other 1 with crab roe and pork. Roughly, 15 minutes of waiting time.

For an extra 1 RMB, you can order the house ginger, which I highly recommend because xiao long bao isn’t complete without shredded ginger.

Jia Jia Tang Bao will be on your left side of the road. Ask for English menu. Order and pay , your order number will be written on the receipt. Pick your allocated seat n wait for your number to be call by the waitress. Be there before lunch. Long queue. Pork dumpling 13 rmb ,crab n pork 27rmb. Each order consists of 12 pieces of dumpling. U need to pay 1 rmb for the shredded ginger. Becareful when you bite the dumpling very hot.
