Swissotel Beijing, China

Beijing [北京]  • 28 APRIL 2013
A five-star luxury hotel, Swissotel Beijing, Hong Kong Macau Center is ideally located at the intersection of the central business district, the diplomatic district, the Lufthansa Commercial District and the Wangfujing shopping district.Welcome to Swissotel Beijing, Hong Kong Macau Center
It offers easy access to Beijing Capital International Airport, Tian’an men Square, downtown, the China International Exhibition Centre and the railway station.

Swissotel Beijing promises elegant, modern accommodation in 430 guest rooms and suites, all featuring guest luxurious amenities and state-of-the-art technology. Executive rooms and the Swiss Executive Club lounge provide additional luxury and exclusivity. A sumptuous breakfast buffet offers a wide range of choices to energise your day, and the hotel’s three restaurants and lounge serve delectably traditional Chinese and international cuisine.
With a wide selection of services and facilities including a gym, an indoor swimming pool and massage treatment rooms, the Amrita fitness centre helps you vitalise and continue your health routine. Hotel parking is also available for your vehicle during your stay.

We booked the room thru Agoda.com at about SGD 150 per night for 7 nights. The room is clean and comfortable.

We stayed at the Swissotel Beijing for 6 nights in late October 2012. We (foolishly) caught a cab from the airport to the hotel (~80RMB), not realising that the Swissotel is literally at the top of the escalators of Exit C of Dongsishitiao station (Line 2, dark Blue line). We arrived at around 9am - well before the usual check-in time of noon - but the lovely person at the checkin desk said that she would upgrade us if we could come back in an hour or so. After wandering around the streets for an hour we returned to the desk, and as promised, we were shown to our room (on Level 12).

I have no complaints about our stay at the Swissotel - note though that we really only used the hotel as our "base" for exploring Beijing (we didn't make use of the fitness facilities or any of the restaurants, though we did use the free Wifi, accessible in the lobby). We'd stayed at the Swissotel in Berlin last year and enjoyed our stay so much that we had no reservations in immediately booking into the Swissotel in Beijing - we had no regrets at all! Our room was cleaned well every day, we received x2 complimentary bottles of water in our room each day and the safe in the room was really convenient for us to store our passports, extra cash etc. We would stay there again - such a convenient base to travel around Beijing via subway.

I definitely recommend Swissotel Beijing to other travellers.

Firstly, Excellent value for money though i think breakfast is over-priced. I advise for you not to take it. Just eat elsewhere. Secondly, Service was excellent. All the staff I encountered were able to understand and speak English. They were kind enough to give us an early check-in. I am a hotelier and i know it is a bonus and we are very thankful. Concierge was able to answer and recommend restaurants, shopping places, etc. They recommended an absolutely wonderful restaurant that serves EXCELLENT Peking duck! (Dadong Roast Duck Restaurant). It was few blocks away from the hotel. Thirdly, Convenient Location. It was literally right outside the train station. It was very accessible to everywhere we wanted to go. Also, there is a small strip of restaurants right outside the hotel. Facing the main hotel entrance, it will be the street in the left side. I also recommend those restaurants. Pricing is average and service was also good. The hotel may not be as new or as grand as others, but you will find all that you need here.

All in all, our stay at Swissotel was fantastic! Would definitely recommend this hotel.
