Penang Curry Mee 咖喱麵 @ Lorong Seratus Tahun, Penang

Penang [檳城] • 22 OCTOBER 2012
Penang Curry Mee has been selected as the No.5 Must Eat hawker food through an online poll on the VisitPenang website in 2009. Oh , I must try ..
There are numerous Curry Mee stalls in Penang and each stall has its own kind of soup. Some have their coconut based stock reddish while some comes in a lighter pale color version, at times known as White Curry Mee. There are also different kinds of add-on such as curry chicken, fish balls and fish cakes.

The basic bowl of Curry Mee cost RM3.00 without prawns and RM4 with prawns. Intensely flavored curry chicken, drumstick, gizzard and liver can be added-on with prices varies from RM1.50

From the looks the chili paste seem to be really hot but the spiciness is actually quite mild with some sweetness. So even with a few spoonfuls, the spiciness is still bearable. And that is actually nothing if you compare to the other hardcore eaters around, who just love the chili paste here.

Penang Curry Mee is a Penang hawker noodle dish. It is made up of egg noodles (mee) and rice noodles (bihun) in a coconut-milk based curry soup and served with bean sprouts, bean puffs (taupok), prawns, cockles, cubes of coagulated pig's blood, cuttlefish, mint leaves, a helping of chilli paste, and some times eggs and chicken meat.

My favourite longan drink in a bottle
