Have you flown Air Asia before?

Penang [檳城] • 29 OCTOBER 2012
One of the biggest costs of travel are your flights. Flying is not cheap, and so as a result prevents many people from having that much craved for travel experience.
The cost of flights is an especially important consideration for those who travel with children.
Flights are usually long, uncomfortable and unmemorable- the main focus of your travels is to be able to spend money on those experiences that provide you with deep and long lasting memories.

Burger King @ Promenade 28, Penang

Penang [檳城] • 24 OCTOBER 2012
Burger King is the place to come for great tasting burgers, “JUST THE WAY YOU LIKE THEM”.
Eating Fast Food seems to be an unwritten rule of the road. Whether for convenience, low cost, or other reasons, my experience indicates that more people eat fast food during their travels than would do so on a normal basis.

Kek Seng Ice Kacang @ Penang Road, Penang

Penang [檳城] • 19 OCTOBER 2012
Shaved ice is very popular in Malaysia; called Ice Kacang (in Penang) or simply ABC elsewhere in Malaysia, it’s a popular dessert commonly sold by street vendors. In a hot and humid country like Malaysia, nothing beats the icy cold and pleasant dessert that soothes the throat and cools down the body. Plus, everyone loves the sweet-tasting shaved ice, with numerous toppings such as red beans, creamy sweet corn, grass jelly, attap chee (palm nuts), etc. You can also add ice cream, fruits, peanuts, and/or raisins…

Breakfast at Eng Loh Coffee Shop @ Church Street, Penang

Penang [檳城] • 14 OCTOBER 2012
At just after 9 a.m., the morning crowd at kopitiam — coffee shop,  — was steadily thickening. The thin veneer on our wood table was chipped; my plastic chair stuck to the back of my legs. And the scrawny man who materialized as soon as we sat grunted with impatience when we paused to think before ordering. He recommended me....

INTO THIN AIR Jon Krakauer

INTO THIN AIR
Jon Krakauer
Biography
Jon Krakauer grew up in Corvallis, Oregon, where his father introduced him to mountaineering as an 8-year-old. In 1999, upon presenting him with an Academy Award in Literature, the American Academy of Arts and Letters declared, "Krakauer combines the tenacity and courage of the finest tradition of investigative journalism with the stylish subtlety and profound insight of the born writer. His account of an ascent of Mount Everest has led to a general reevaluation of climbing and of the commercialization of what was once a romantic, solitary sport; while his account of the life and death of Christopher McCandless, who died of starvation after challenging the Alaskan wilderness, delves even more deeply and disturbingly into the fascination of nature and the devastating effects of its lure on a young and curious mind."
